Horses for small group trail rides either on or near our property. The facility is immediately next to Devil's Den Spring Resort and we there is access to that property as well as 100 acres next to it. The trails are both wooded and open pasture and very scenic. Riding lessons are available. May entertain various requests from guests, such as trailering horses to Goethe Forest and also the Greenway. Guest house available for rent to people that want to travel with their horses and can board their horses.

Cedar Key Scrub State Reserve

Cedar Key Scrub is dominated by botanical species such as sand live oak, myrtle oak, and Chapman's oak, along with rusty lyonia, and saw palmetto. Riders who want to experience a mosaic of Florida habitats will find it on the miles of trails that wind through the park. The shallow waters and numerous creeks near the salt marshes are ideal for canoeing and kayaking. Rental canoes and kayaks are available in the city of Cedar Key. The park has a picnic shelter, tables, and grills. Access to the park is on State Road 24 about six miles east of Cedar Key.
The reserve utilizes existing jeep trails for multi-use trails, totaling about four miles on the east portion and eight miles on the western portion. The reserve is divided into two portions by CR347 which runs between Cedar Keys and Fowlers Bluff. These trails are primarily used for hiking, but are also available for horseback riding.

Devil's Hammock Wildlife Management Area

Devil's Hammock WMA is comprised of more than 7,000 acres in north central Levy County along the Waccasassa River and Otter Creek. The land cover consists of bottomland hardwoods and cutover pine and cypress forests. There are two canoe launches on the area. Other recreational opportunities include hiking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing, fishing, and hunting. Wildlife species on this area include kingfisher, wood stork, river otter, and black racer. Camping is prohibited during periods open to hunting, and is restricted to designated sites by group camping permit only from the Levy County Commission (call the number listed above) during periods closed to hunting. Goethe State Forest

The Goethe Trail System extends throughout the 53,398-acre forest with access available at three separate trailheads. The forest is open during daylight hours for visitors to enjoy picnicking, hiking, bicycling, fishing, wildlife viewing, and horseback riding. All horseback riders must have proof of current negative Coggins Test results for their horses when on state lands. Overnight camping is allowed by permit only. However, private campgrounds are located near the forest. The Goethe State Forest is on the Great Florida Birding Trail.
