Pure Water Wilderness is the Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy Counties area in North Central Florida. The region boasts the Suwannee River and the Santa Fe River, as well as over 60 freshwater springs, and is bordered to the west by the Gulf of Mexico. About Us

Florida's Pure Water Wilderness, the Dixie-Gilchrist-Levy Tourist Development Board, is a three-county consortium of board members made up of community and business leaders and county commissioners who come together to present to the public the secret of the Pure Water Wilderness, the lower Suwannee River area. Pure Water Wilderness is sponsored by the county commissions of the three counties as well as the Governor’s Office of Trade, Tourism and Economic Development (a grant administered by Enterprise Florida), Progress Energy and the Eleanor Walton Foundation.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of Pure Water Wilderness to promote the protection of natural and historic resources and enhance economic development in Dixie, Gilchrist and Levy Counties through nature-based tourism.
